It was a crisp morning out at Steamboat Acres when Ms. Ming’s fourth grade class from Westwood Elementary arrived. The excitement on their faces said it all when they found out they got to take a ride through the farm on a wagon! The excitement didn’t end there: Farmer Michael and his wife Tara from Steamboat Acres taught the kids about pollination, time management, how mulch helps organic farmers and how to pick their own ear of corn! The field trip then continued to the Lodi Raley’s where Manager Sean taught the kids all about ingredient labels, how to pick the perfect pineapple and composting! Thank you to our program sponsor Raley’s for making these field trips possible!
