Mr. Dix’s fourth grade class had acres of fun learning about worms, composting, greenhouses, produce preparation, identifying fruit trees, and edible landscapes. They also got to feed chickens and play with the goats at First Generation Farmers. After the farm experience, students got a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Raley’s store in Brentwood. They learned about fresh food versus frozen, how food is stored, and got to feel first-hand how cold a large food storage freezer is! Thank you to our program sponsor Raley’s for making these field trips possible!
