The Machado Murray Road Farm is approximately 155 acres of orchards and irrigated cropland in San Joaquin County. This property was closed in the summer of 2021. Owners, Mike and Diana Machado, are no strangers to agricultural conservation easements, closing on their first easement in 2015. A portion of these projects were funded by the California Strategic Growth Council’s (SGC) Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC), administered by the Department of Conservation, while the remaining funds were provided through a landowner bargain-sale.
