Super Simple Roasted Garlic
Roasted garlic is savory and can be used in any number of dishes. The best thing about this recipe is you can start with it and by the time you are done with your main dishes and sides your delicious roasted garlic will be coming out of the oven ready to dazzle! My favorites go-tos for roasted garlic are garlic bread, avocado bread, and tossing them in soup and using an immersion blender to create that smooth creamy soup that is so yummy!
Ingredients:
As many garlic bulbs as you want – for garlic or avocado bread I usually do two large bulbs
Good olive oil
Salt and Pepper (S/P) or other seasoning you like
baking sheet
tin foil
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Cut the top portion of the garlic bulb off – approximately 1/4 of the bulb, so that the majority of the cloves are exposed
- Set each bulb into its own sheet of tin foil (large enough to wrap over top and cover bulb)
- Drizzle olive oil over bulb covering but not drowning the cloves
- Optional step – you can add rosemary or salt and pepper or another herb of your choice over the olive oil at this point if you so choose
- Wrap tin foil up and over the top and seal well so they cook up nice and steamy
- Place foil wrapped bulbs (cut side up) onto baking sheet and bake for approximately 45 mins. or until golden and soft
- When done baking, let cool slightly to handle
- Unwrap bulbs and gently squeeze cloves out or use a fork to gently work out
Uses:
Spread on garlic bread using fork or knife, add your butter and seasoning, bake
Spread on Advocado bread using fork or knife and then cover with your avocado and S/P
